Franklin's Cows 1995
In 1995, Arnold spent some time in Franklin, Massachusetts at Mara Herskowitz's house. Arnold's etchings of the house was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's paintings. Additionally, Arnold combined symbols and buildings that were associted with the Soviet Union and American brands in order to continue with his study of deconstruction of ideaological imagery. The main symbol Arnold depicted during his time in Franklin, Massachusetts was the symbol of the milk carton and cows. He used combination of the techinques developed in his criss-cross studies and heavy brushtrokes in order to depict the consumer market for milk similar Andy Warhol's consumer cultural art.
