Moroccan Patterns 1980
While having an exhibit at the American Embassy, Arnold traveled alone to Morocco. Arnold's art was then inspired by his travels around Morocco and the county's Islamic heritage. Moroccan designs are centered around vibrant colors, elaborate and sophisticated patterns, geomtric mosaics and tiled courtyards all of which visually influenced Arnold's paintings. These elements of design are located in every city of Morocco from the walls to floors, hallways, to even public fountains. The beauty of Morocco is everything that is surrounding you. Arnold uses his past knowlodge of the criss-cross patterns to assist him on anyother geometric quest in art. Arnold was using his art and travels to cross boundaries and barrriers between new people and cultures he was coming across on his art quest.
