Quetzalcoatl Guatemala 1986

The Mesoamerican God Quetzalcoatl whose name originated from the Nauati langue and  means the "feathered serpent" was incorporated into Arnold's paintings. The snake like figure was considered the emobidment of of sky and is the giver of life.  Arnold was able to connect his Mayan travels  of images, patterns, and symbols with his criss-cross work.
